Chris W. Walker
President
Mr. Walker graduated from University of Detroit with a BA and the Detroit College of Law where he received a JD.
He was employed by Merrill Lynch and then as a broker at First of Michigan and Shearson. He joined the Commercial & Savings Bank of St. Clair in 1983 as the Investment and Trust Officer. Mr. Walker established Pillar Capital Management, Inc. in 1992; he then merged Pillar with Investment Counsel, Inc. in 2000.
Mr. Walker has over 25 years of investment experience.
Marshall C. Downs
Vice President
Mr. Downs received a BS from John Carroll University and an MBA in Finance from the Ohio State University.
In 1960 he joined National Bank of Detroit’s Trust Investment Division where he became a Vice President and Director of Research. In 1970 he assisted in establishing an independent counseling firm in Detroit remaining there as co-owner until October, 1983 when he became associated with Investment Counsel as an officer, counselor and securities analyst.
Mr. Downs is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has 45 years of experience in the investment management field.
